Pantry Design was key to the overall design for this long galley kitchen. The blue prints originally called for a closed off butler’s pantry area for storage; However, we felt it would be in the customer’s best interest to open up the pantry area to the room and incorporate the pantry into the kitchen design. It gave the kitchen a more open feel, adding more storage space, yet creating a great working nook for everyone in the family to utilize. This area is complete with a GE Profile beverage center, GE microwave, recycling center and prep sink. Sharing space in the kitchen is often difficult for many families, but this design enabled much needed access for the kids in this family to get snacks without entering the kitchens main work triangle.
The kids really enjoy making microwave popcorn and getting a cold drink on their own & appreciate their newfound culinary independence.
